Raven Francis New Orleans Death: Woman Died, Four Others Injured in Mid-City Incident
The New Orleans community was shaken late Monday night by a violent incident that claimed the life of 29-year-old Raven Francis and left four other women injured.
The New Orleans Police Department (NOPD) is currently investigating the tragic event, which unfolded in the Mid-City neighborhood and has left a deep sense of grief and concern among residents.
The shooting took place in the 4100 block of South Carrollton Avenue, near a popular area frequented by both locals and visitors. According to NOPD reports, the incident began with a physical altercation between two groups at a local business. The confrontation quickly escalated, and as one group attempted to leave the scene in their vehicle, an unknown assailant opened fire.
The vehicle, struck multiple times by gunfire, lost control and ultimately crashed into a fire hydrant before flipping over at the intersection of South Solomon Street and Baudin Street. The scene that followed was one of chaos and terror, as first responders arrived to find the car overturned and its occupants severely injured.
