Early Saturday morning, August 31, a collision happened on Beaver Valley Road near the intersection with Hughstown Road. Marvin Branton, 66, was driving his Mitsubishi Outlander when he crossed multiple lanes of traffic while making a left turn, according to the PSP’s findings. That was the final time he halted; he then entered a ditch and raced into the end of a culvert. He carried on with his journey.

Branton’s injuries from the crash ultimately proved to be fatal, and after being transported to UMPC Altoona, he passed away there. He was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash, according to the Pennsylvania State Police’s investigation.
