Fatal Crash: 18-Year-Old Jack Visjager of Cincinnati Killed While 2 Others Injured in Eastbound I-74 Fatal Crash

(St. Leon, Indiana)

– Just before 7:00 on Saturday morning, there was a crash on eastbound I-74 near St. Leon that resulted in the death of one person.

A 17-year-old motorist allegedly failed to slow down for the car in front of him while traveling at a high pace, according to the Dearborn County Sheriff’s Office.

He struck the rear of the vehicle, flipping it over and causing it to roll on its roof.

Cincinnati resident Jack Visjager, 18, who was riding in the backseat, was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to investigators, there were no major injuries sustained by the unidentified driver or the other two individuals, Brooklyn Fette, 30, of Sunman, and Nicholas Schaeffer, 40, of Batesville.

There are no charges on file.

The Dearborn County Sheriff’s Office is still looking into the crash.

An Indiana State Police Accident Reconstructionist, the fire departments from St. Leon and New Trenton, as well as Harrison, Ohio Fire and EMS, provided assistance to the deputies at the scene.

(St. Leon, Indiana) – Investigators in Dearborn County are looking into a deadly collision that occurred early on Saturday morning on eastbound I-74 close to St. Leon.

During the initial inquiry and cleanup, all eastbound lanes of the interstate were closed between the St. Leon and Harrison-Brookville exits for approximately two hours.

As of Monday morning, no additional details on the fatal collision had been made public.
