Darean Davis Shooting: 14-Year-Old student at Ferndale University High School Identified as Teen Killed in Michigan State Fair Shooting

Fourteen-year-old Darean Davis of Detroit has been named as the adolescent victim who passed away from his wounds following a gunshot at the Michigan State Fair over the weekend.

The yearly festival was otherwise pleasant over Labor Day weekend, but the violence marred it. The Novi Police continue to seek for the person responsible for the murder and investigate the shooting.

The commander of the department stated that the incident was just another instance of two parties being unable to work out their disagreements without making things worse.

“Unfortunately, we’re witnessing an increasing number of them,” Novi Police Cmdr. Jason Meier remarked. “The days of getting in a good old fashioned fistfight just seem to be supplanted these days by gun violence.”

After the fair ends, the violence strikes two families in Detroit.

Two groups of people, largely teenagers, got into a brawl inside the fair on Saturday night, according to the police. An individual in their early 20s began firing, and things got physical in a parking lot.

The shooter, who is still at large, fled the scene, leaving the fair in a state of complete mayhem. A video shot in the evening shows large throngs of people running away.

Davis, the victim, is a student at Ferndale’s University High School. Another 14-year-old acquaintance of his sustained injuries in the incident as well. Since then, the hospital has freed them.

“Our investigative teams are making great progress, but we still do not have a suspect identified yet,” Meier stated.

Police are hoping to use the video evidence to apprehend the gunman because so many people are documenting the events.

“It will be crucial to have citizen tips and any footage that onlookers may have taken of the incident. Our inquiry has benefited greatly from the tips and information we’ve already gotten from those who were present, according to Meier.

More Novi police were positioned at the celebrations to ensure security for the last two days of the show.
