Crash: Ransom C. Wood, 18, Driver Traveling Northbound in 2003 Buick Park Avenue Fall Asleep on Wheel Leading to Serious Injuries

A Browning, Missouri, man, 18, was seriously hurt when his car overturned early on Friday morning due to him dozing off behind the wheel.

The collision happened on September 20, 2024, at around 3:30 a.m. on Route M in Linn County, eight miles north of Brookfield, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The 2003 Buick Park Avenue was being driven northward by its driver, Ransom C. Wood, when it is reported that he fell asleep, leading the car to go off the road and overturn.

In the collision, Wood—who was not using a seat belt—suffered severe injuries. LifeFlight Eagle transported him to University Hospital so he could receive medical attention. Precision tow the car, which was completely damaged.

At the incident, assistance was provided by the Linn County Sheriff’s Office and Linn County Ambulance.
