Homicide: Man Found Dead After Shot Multiple Times in Friday Afternoon at the Collegeville Housing Community
Birmingham, Alabama
– After a single person was shot and died in the Collegeville housing neighborhood on Friday afternoon, the Birmingham Police Department is looking into a homicide.
According to the BPD, they were called to the 3000 block of 32nd Avenue North in reference to a person shot.
Upon arrival at the site, authorities discovered an unconscious male who had been shot several times next to a curb.
When BFRS arrived and carried him away, the man passed away en route to the hospital.
Authorities think the man was shot by an unidentified suspect who approached him. After then, the suspect left the area.
Speaking with witnesses who were outside at the time of the shooting, BPD Officer Truman Fitzgerald claims that the incident was not prompted.
Officer Fitzgerald claims, “The suspect was on a mission.”
This was a targeted shooting, according to the police. According to Officer Fitzgerald, this occurred in broad daylight in a public place with complete disregard for other people.
As of this now, nobody is being held.
