Police Investigation: Russian man Found Dead in a Drain on Karon Beach in Phuket Province After Murdered
On Tuesday, the body of a Russian man—who is thought to have been murdered—was discovered in a drain on Phuket province’s Karon Beach.
The victim, only known as “Ilia,” was allegedly murdered, and in an effort to conceal it, his body was thrown into the drain, according to Phuket police.
The victim’s wrists were slashed, and there was evidence of blunt force trauma to the left side of his head, above the ear, according to forensic experts.
It is thought that he passed away at least eight hours before his body was found.
According to Karon police’s investigation officer, Pol Cpt Peerawat Yordtor, he was notified yesterday at around 1:40 pm about the finding of a Caucasian man’s body in the drain and promptly went to investigate
He added that individuals in the neighborhood claim not to have seen the man previously and that no formal documents that could have revealed the victim’s name were discovered in his hands.
He claimed that when the police looked into it later, they found that he had entered Phuket on April 24 on a group visa, and that the 90-day validity had ended on July 22.
